The Buckhorn Bunkie

This property deserved a quality bunkie that matched its brand new cottage! Two bedrooms were a must. From teens and their friends to visiting family, everyone feels right at home whether sleeping, hanging out in the sitting area, or lounging on the deck taking in the waterfront views.

The Spotlight Treatment

We created a design to bring the owner’s vision to life, along with a site plan, including all permits. From demolition of the existing structure to constructing the bunkie, Spotlight took care of everything from start to finish. Energy Star rated windows and doors were installed in the fully insulated structure, along with exterior siding to match the existing cottage. Custom barn doors were designed and made from actual barn board, to deliver the feel the owners were looking for.

From the vaulted ceiling in the Great Room lending a spacious feel, to the pre-finished pine ceilings, guests will enjoy the cottage/beach vibe inside the bunkie. Exterior siding was creatively used on the interior to enhance the flow of finishings, including a durable faux flagstone vinyl floor, a cozy propane fireplace, and double doors with sidelights. Of course, we also coordinated all trades and inspections, from structural to electrical.
